The Almost Crunchy Podcast is a joint-venture between locals Laiken Williams and Jessie Montes. Everyone Monday a new episode is released where the two chat about how to live a healthy lifestyle without getting too overwhelmed, along with their own journeys of seeking simplicity over perfection.

They are on their 22nd episode and consistently have expert guests on the show to offer additional insight into specific topics.

What kind of topics? Potentially ‘crunchy’ topics.

If you’ve never heard the term ‘crunchy’ used to describe someone, I’ll let you Google it. It’s not worth me getting beat up over because I got it wrong. To quote The Snap Mom, “to be crunchy is to be along the mindset of all-natural. “

Listen to their first episode here where they explain the podcast.

About the event

To celebrate the 6 month mark of the Almost Crunchy Podcast, the duo wanted to thank and connect with local listeners who have supported the podcast.

“We understand how important community is and that having likeminded friends along you through your journey can be so powerful, ” said Williams. “That being said, we decided it would be great for us to all get together in person.”

On Saturday, September 7, they will be hosting an Almost Crunchy Meetup in Fort Walton Beach.

“There will be brunch yummies, goodie bags filled with fun stuff from our favorite brands, and hopefully a quick yoga session with a local yoga instructor,” said Montes. “We not only want to connect with our listeners, but also make this community open to other like-minded ladies, so invite a friend or two and let’s make it a party!!”

They even gained the support from some well-known brands to offer free swag bags. A few of the brands include:

  • Nutpods
  • Primally Pure
  • Nutiva
  • Simple Mills

If you are interested in possibly attending the event, please make sure to RSVP ahead of time on their Facebook event page to get all of the details!
