Content Marketing Specialist / Branded Content Creator
About Us
Get The Coast is a digital-first local news outlet serving Okaloosa County and surrounding areas. While our newsroom covers local news and events, we also provide innovative marketing solutions through native advertising and branded content that integrates seamlessly with our platform.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a Branded Content Creator to develop sponsored content for our business clients. This role focuses exclusively on creating advertising content that matches our publication’s style and tone – you won’t be covering breaking news, city council meetings, or traditional journalism assignments. - Develop and write high-quality sponsored stories and branded content pieces for local businesses.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and translate them into effective content strategies.
- Ensure all branded content aligns with our journalistic standards and disclosure policies.
- Manage the entire content creation process from ideation to publication.
Social Media Video Production
-
- Create engaging short-form video content (Reels) for Instagram and Facebook.
- Shoot original footage using a smartphone and other mobile journalism tools.
- Write scripts and record voice-overs for video content.
- Edit videos to ensure they are optimized for social media platforms.
Content Strategy and Planning
-
- Develop and maintain a content calendar for branded content and social media posts.
- Identify trending topics and local events suitable for video content.
- Analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
Client Relationship Management
-
- Serve as the primary point of contact for branded content clients.
- Manage client expectations and ensure timely delivery of content.
- Gather and incorporate client feedback to improve content quality and effectiveness.
Qualifications
-
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience in content marketing, branded content creation, or digital journalism.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
- Proficiency in video shooting and editing, preferably with mobile devices.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and current trends.
- Experience with content management systems such as WordPress and Google Docs.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices (not required but a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the local Okaloosa County area is a plus.
