A 60-year-old Destin man is undergoing treatment at a local hospital after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds at Sea Glass Apartments on Commons Drive Friday night.
- According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the apartment complex around 7:30 p.m. on June 14, 2024. Upon arrival, they found the victim, who had been driving a white truck, with serious injuries.
The suspected assailant reportedly called the deputies to inform them that he was inside an apartment at the complex. At the time of the press release, the victim was still alive and receiving medical treatment, according to the OCSO.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown and is currently under investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Why is the suspected assailant the one getting shot? I thought the suspected assailant was the person chasing him, shooting him?
If the suspected assailant called deputies from inside an apartment at the complex, then why are deputies still looking for information? Why not ask the “assailant” who called the deputies, why he shot the man.
