Eglin Air Force Base announces temporary closures of State Roads 85 and 123 for testing

The 96th Test Wing at Eglin will conduct missions requiring road closures on May 13 and 15, with multiple potential closure periods lasting up to 90 minutes each.

Motorists should prepare for road closures next week as the 96th Test Wing conducts testing operations.

  • State Roads 85 and 123 will be closed May 13 and 15 between 9 a.m. and noon, according to Eglin Air Force Base officials.

The closures are necessary for testing on the Eglin Test Complex, though officials noted that roads would not be closed for more than a 90-minute period at any one time.

Travelers should be aware that multiple closure periods may occur within the three-hour timeframe each day.

Motorists who regularly use these routes are advised to plan alternative transportation during these times.
