    1. Where did it say her family was found or that her name is Jean. The article doesn’t mention her family being found and it clearly stated that her name sounds like Jean, not that her name is Jean.

    1. Susan, it can VERY EASILY happen, in the best and most conscientious of families! You have obviously never had to deal with a loved one with Alzheimer’s, who still has autonomy to move around, but not the mental faculties to know where to go or how to get home. You cannot chain them to their beds while they sleep! But THIS is when the family needs to start thinking of a permanent facility for her safety, or 24-hour live-in caregivers and extra locks on the doors. Well I mean

  1. There are alarms that can be put on all windows and doors to enable her to stay at home. She doesn’t need to be removed from her home. The alarms can be gotten off Amazon and put on in 5 minutes. Why force a woman into a nursing home just because safety measures haven’t been put in place by the people responsible for her. Obviously they know her condition. This was very neglectful. She could have been hurt or never found alive.

  2. I am so glad she was found and I would never blame the family, especially publicly. Alzheimers is terrible, and I’m sure the family has and does take every precaution. This is not the place to criticize anyone. This is the time to say Thank you to the Police who protected her. I am just so glad she is safe and back home.
