As the entire state of Florida is on high alert wondering what direction Hurricane Irma will actually take, these badass NOAA Hurricane Hunters captured some amazing footage as they flew an airplane right through Hurricane Irma.

This isn’t anything new, in order to collect data to get a better understanding of these massive storms, the Hurricane Hunters need to head right toward (and through) the storm.

So, what exactly is it like to fly through the eye of a hurricane?
