City of Fort Walton Beach

The Fort Walton Beach Police Department will host two community engagement events on Saturday, Nov. 16, starting with a morning bike ride followed by an ice cream social.

The November Community Bike Ride begins at the Fort Walton Beach Recreation Center at 132 Jet Drive NW. Officers will be available from 8 a.m. to provide free helmets, courtesy of the Florida Department of Transportation, and assist with helmet fittings. The 4-mile leisurely ride through residential neighborhoods starts at 8:30 a.m.

Later that day, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the department will host “Cones with Cops” at Pink Coyote Dessert Co., located at 30 Walter Martin Road. The event will feature police cruisers on display and mini horses from the Fort Walton Beach Equestrian Center.

  • A portion of the ice cream sales will benefit the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center.

The events offer residents opportunities to interact with Community Policing officers in casual settings. Both events are open to the public.
