Yesterday at approximately 4:55 p.m., a shooting occurred on the Cinco Bayou Bridge in the southbound lanes. 

  • On Friday morning, the Fort Walton Beach Police Department confirmed this shooting was not random and is being investigated as a targeted crime.

the victimwas sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was travelling south on the bridge when an older model white in color sedan pulled up beside the passenger side of the vehicle and began firing. The victim was shot in the head. The vehicle was described as an older model white in color sedan which is either missing one hubcap or has a donut.

A 15-year-old male, who was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was traveling south on the bridge, was shot in the head during the incident and was being treated for the injury, according to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department. 

According to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers, “an older model, white in color, sedan pulled up beside the passenger side of the vehicle and began firing. The vehicle was described as either missing one hubcap or has a donut.”

  • We do not yet know if the 15-year-old was the intended target.
