Generous Donor Gives a Very Merry Christmas to 162 Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast Kids

On Sunday, December 13th, 162 kids from nine Boys & Girls Clubs across the Emerald Coast woke up early to go shopping thanks to a generous donation made by Rusty and Brooke Skalla.

The kids arrived at Walmart in Destin, FL and purchased necessities like socks and winter clothing, along with a few fun purchases as well.

“Because of a huge and generous gift from the Skalla Family, we are collectively able to bring some holiday happiness to 162 of our club members,” said Shervin Rassa, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast. “I cannot in words describe how monumental this is for our youth and families in an ever so adverse year. Brooke and Rusty Skalla have made a huge impact on our communities and we thank them.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs kids and staff had breakfast provided by Costa McDonalds and Krispy Kreme. The Costa McDonalds in Bluewater Bay and Niceville donated 180 sausage biscuits, hashbrowns, and milk and each child received a Krispy Kreme donut. The kids were then able to head over to the Urban Air Indoor Trampoline Park for a little fun.

“We are here today to help make a difference in these children’s lives,” said Rusty and Brooke Skalla. “We want them to know we love them and we want to make sure they feel that when they leave here today.”
