Hurlburt Field will host its annual tree lighting ceremony and winter wonderland celebration Dec. 6, bringing together Department of Defense ID card holders for an evening of holiday festivities.

  • The event, scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Memorial Air Park, will feature games, free food, military vendors and an appearance by Santa Claus, culminating in the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Col. Patrick Dierig, 1st Special Operations Wing commander, will deliver opening remarks at the gathering, which aims to strengthen bonds within the military community.

“The Tree Lighting Ceremony serves as a kickoff to the holiday season while encouraging military readiness by fostering resilience, boosting morale and strengthening connection within our military community,” said base officials.

The celebration is for DOD ID card holders and is not open to the public.
