A Holt resident wanted on charges of aggravated assault, firing missiles into an occupied conveyance, and discharging firearm in public was captured today after allegedly trying to run from an attempted warrant service on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

21-year old Hunter Carmichael was taken into custody today after a K9 track involving K9 teams from the Florida Highway Patrol, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, and Okaloosa Correctional Institution.

According to the report from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, when OCSO deputies tried to serve Carmichael’s felony warrants this morning, he took off into a wooded area behind his home at 391 Dove Run in Holt.

  • He was apprehended about four hours later at 4088 East Street in Holt.

The original warrants are connected to a January 28th shots fired call near Dove Run Road. According to the OCSO, the victim says Carmichael pointed a firearm at him and tracked his vehicle as he passed him in the area. He says Carmichael fired a bullet into the back of his vehicle from approximately 50 feet away. A bullet was found lodged in the tailgate.

Additional charges are pending.
