The lockdown has been lifted at Baker School after authorities swept the campus three times and determined a shooting threat Friday morning was a hoax.

Sheriff’s deputies responded around 9 a.m. to reports of a possible shooting threat at the school. The threat was made in a phone call, according to the Okaloosa County School District.

Authorities searched the building and surrounding area but found nothing suspicious. Parents came to the school to check students out. An ambulance crew was on site for a medical issue unrelated to the threat.

All emergency medical services units were on standby near the school as a precaution, which is standard protocol during threats. The school district said Baker School followed all safety measures during the incident.

A similar threat was reportedly called-in regarding Crestview High School. Deputies are currently searching that campus as well. Nearby Davidson Middle School was placed on lockdown due to its close proximity to Crestview High School.

Authorities said no injuries were reported in either incident. Investigations are ongoing.
