Did Facebook remove an image of the flag painted on the rooftop of Legendary Marine?

Yesterday afternoon, quite a few Facebook posts were questioning why the social network would categorize a seemingly innocent, but patriotic, post of the flag painted on top of Legendary Marine as spam. Screenshots were uploaded showing that Facebook did indeed remove the posts. In case your post was removed too, here’s what happened: An old article from iLoveDestinFl.com started circulating again that featured the painting of the American flag on the rooftop of Legendary Marine. There is just one problem, iLoveDestinFL.com’s site is riddled with malware at the moment.

When anyone shares an article on Facebook, the social network “checks” the site to make sure that it’s safe and is who they say they are. It’s their responsibility to protect users on outbound links, especially in the days of clickbait. Upon clicking the link that was shared, you would be redirected to a terrible spam website that ends up trapping a number of users.

So, if your post was removed and labeled as spam, that’s why! You can even click here read a report of just how bad that site’s malware is.
