Cheeseburger in Paradise closes at Silver Sands Outlets

After 11 years at the Silver Sands Premium Outlets, Cheeseburger in Paradise has permanently closed. While the reasons are unknown, Silver Sands did release a statement to The Destin Log:

“Silver Sands Premium Outlets is proud to offer an ever-changing and evolving selection for our shoppers. Simon (Property Group) has a strategic leasing plan in place for Silver Sands Premium Outlets and has recently opened a handful of new offerings at the center, including francesca’s and Old Navy Outlet, among many others. We look forward to announcing new sought-after brands and eateries as leases are finalized.”

Tuesday’s Primary Election results are in

  • Rick Scott defeats Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente and will now go up against Bill Nelson for the U.S. Senate seat
  • Matt Caldwell will now face Nikki Fried for Agriculture commissioner
  • Ashley Moody will now face Sean Shaw for Attorney general
  • Matt Gaetz will go up against Jennifer Zimmerman for the district one seat in congress
  • Linda Evanchyk won the District 3 School Board seat
  • Diane Kelley won the District 5 School Board seat
  • Incumbent Lamar White won the District 1 School Board seat

The midterm elections will take place on November 6, 2018

South Walton teacher has been suspended for cursing at students

Sean Libby, who teaches AP human geography, world geography, personal development and leadership, was placed on leave for using the F-word and other profanities in front of a classroom of students after a student recorded the teacher’s rant. According to the Walton Sun, in the 1 minute, 26 second recording, Libby could be heard saying, “You are shutting the hell up…Why do I have to flip out on you guys every damn day?…Now, next step you’re outta the f***ing room“. 10-year-old Kaos Weston welcomes his grandmother at the airport

What better way to troll your Grandmother as you pick her up from the airport than to welcome her with a “welcome home from prison” sign! 10-year-old Kaos Weston did just that at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport on Sunday.
