More talk of parking in Destin, High-speed chase after gunshot reports, Local ghost hunters

There is definitely some talk about more parking in Destin with a parking garage, but several City Council members expressed apprehension about entering into a public/private partnership for such a development, according to The Destin Log. The apprehension comes from wanting to find the best way to fund such a project and also the concern that such a partnership might benefit Destin Harbor-front businesses more than the city. High-speed chase after gunshot reports

The Northwest Florida Daily News reported that a high speed chase ended on Okaloosa Island after a tire on the suspect’s black Impala blew out and came flying off the car. The incident started when reports of gunshots was called in near the Walmart in Destin. To read more on the chase, click here.

Save the bees

The bee population was already having trouble before Hurricane Michael. Now, in an effort to help prevent the bee population from collapsing, 4,500 gallons of sugar syrup was delivered to Wewahitcha on Monday, according to the Walton Sun. According to the report, this temporary alternative food source will serve up to 50,000 bee colonies. Click here to read more.

Idyll Hounds Brewing Company continues to can water

After Hurricane Michael there was a ton of immediate activity to help those in Panama City and Mexico Beach. Idyll Hounds Brewing Company was one of the first that we saw helping to get water to those in need. That effort continues. The Walton Sun reports that since Tuesday, Idyll Hounds has taken more than 250 cases of water to Panama City (each containing 24 cans) and plans to make a couple more trips before shifting their focus toward gathering other supplies. Ghost hunters to inspect the Imogene Theatre

According to WEAR TV, The “Shadow Chasers”, a local paranormal investigative group, will be investigating paranormal activity at the Imogene Theatre in Pensacola. The owner of the theatre believes that Imogene Gooch, the girl who the theatre was named after, still resides inside the theatre after hearing whispers of “Get out.” To read more on their findings of supernatural activity, click here.
