HarborWalk’s parking plans, Orangetheory fitness + a BIG thank you

To: Daily Rundown Readers

Good morning!

I want to get started with a BIG THANK YOU! 🙌 This is my last Daily Rundown of 2018 and I can’t thank you enough for being a subscriber.

When I started this newsletter it was me and one other person alternating days. Since August, however, it has just been me. I never intended to be the main writer every morning but over these last 4 months writing the Daily Rundown has been one of the things I look forward to the most.

As we move into more original stories and news in 2019 I hope to add more value to this newsletter and continue to grow Get The Coast into a news source that you can go to for all things Emerald Coast.

Thank you for subscribing.

Thank you for opening the emails.

Thank you for taking the time to actually reply and have a conversation.

Thank you for your feedback.

Not much news…

HarborWalk to continue parking fees in 2019

Depending on who you ask, you will get mixed responses on pay-to-park. Growing up here, I’m not really used to paying to park. I hate doing it in larger cities but I understand that it is normal for those areas. It’s not yet “that” normal to us.

With that being said, I do think more paid parking is coming to this area and will eventually become our norm. HarborWalk has their reasoning and will bring back pay-to-park during the peak season as they promised.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • It’s a $10 flat fee.
  • The parking permit is good until midnight that night.
  • The paid parking reportedly boosted merchant sales.
  • HarborWalk hopes to make the experience better in 2019.

What’s your take? Are you ok with the direction parking is going?

Orangetheory fitness center opening in February

Tomorrow is January 1st and with that comes one of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions: GETTING BACK TO THE GYM.

I know this will be mine and if you live in Destin, you will soon have Orangetheory as a new neighbor.According to Orangetheory’s website,

Orangetheory is a 1-hour, full body workout, focused on training endurance, strength, and power. We use heart-rate based interval training, which burns more calories post workout than traditional exercise. When wearing our exclusive OTbeat heart rate monitors, your real time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, our certified coaches lead the workout to prevent you from over or under training.

To read more on what to expect at Orangetheory, click here. The new fitness center will be located at 4495 Furling Lane in Destin.

Have you ever been to an Orangetheory?

Ok, that’s all I have for you this morning! I hope you have a fun and safe New Year’s Eve and I’ll talk with you in 2019!
