On February 27, 2023, officers with the Niceville Police Department conducted a traffic stop for an expired registration which resulted in the arrest of Joseph Gaddy Sailers.

During the traffic stop, it was determined that Sailers had an active warrant with nationwide extradition from Cobb County, Georgia for charges of Aggravated Assault with Intent to Murder, Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime.

Sailers was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Equipment after K-9 Kodi alerted for the odor of narcotics, according to the Niceville PD. The PD says that a subsequent search of the vehicle found 3.9 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Sailers was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail where he is currently being held with no bond.
