HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville has received a five-star rating from Healthgrades for hip fracture treatment and earned its fifth consecutive award for sepsis care, according to the company’s latest rankings.

  • The hospital also received an A grade this week from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit organization that evaluates patient safety at hospitals.

Healthgrades, a company that provides hospital and physician ratings, awarded the Niceville facility five stars for hip fracture treatment and five stars for sepsis treatment for the fifth consecutive year, spanning 2022 through 2026.

The Leapfrog Group’s A grade measures hospitals on their efforts to prevent infections, injuries and medical errors, according to the organization.

  • “We are honored to be recognized,” said Todd Jackson, CEO of HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital. “Our exceptional colleagues have demonstrated their passion to deliver the highest quality patient care to our community.”

Healthgrades evaluates risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify top-performing facilities in specialty areas.

“Healthgrades’ specialty awards identify the nation’s top-performing hospitals in key service areas, helping consumers find high quality care tailored to their specific needs,” said Dr. Alana Biggers, medical advisor at Healthgrades.

The statistics are based on Healthgrades’ analysis of Medicare data for 2022 through 2024.
