Okaloosa County Superintendent welcomes students back for new academic year

Superintendent Marcus Chambers emphasized academic excellence and new STEM programs as schools opened for the 2025-2026 year.

Okaloosa County Superintendent Marcus Chambers issued a welcome message to students and families as schools across the district opened their doors for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • In his letter, Chambers expressed excitement for the year ahead and his commitment to fostering a safe, supportive learning environment for every student.

“With over two decades in education, I know how vital it is to create schools where students feel inspired and supported,” Chambers wrote. “As a fellow parent, I share your aspirations for your child’s success, and I am committed to working alongside you to make this school year one of growth and achievement.”

The superintendent emphasized the district’s dedication to academic excellence, respectful behavior and personal responsibility while highlighting new opportunities for students in STEM, the arts, and career and technical education.

  • “These programs are designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and prepare students for a bright future. There’s something for everyone, and we can’t wait to see what our students accomplish,” he said.

Chambers also reaffirmed the district’s commitment to open communication with parents and students. He encouraged families to stay informed by following district updates online and on social media, and to reach out directly with questions or feedback.
