Yesterday it was announced that Okaloosa schools will be closed the week of March 16th, which is our Spring Break week, and the Week of March 23rd. Schools are tentatively scheduled to resume March 30.

For many children in our community, eating breakfast and lunch at school is something they depend on.

Now, Pepper’s Mexican Grill and Cantina in Shalimar and Crestview, FL are stepping up to the plate to make sure these kids have a meal. On Saturday morning, the restaurant announced free lunches for kids who need it while school is cancelled.

“A lot of us parents weren’t expecting this”, the restaurant posted. “We understand lunch in school is a big help for a lot of us! From March 16th-30th from 10:30am – 12:00pm, Peppers we will be offering FREE lunches for our Kids. No purchase necessary. We can’t deliver but you can pick it up!”

The restaurant will have several items to choose from.

Thank you, Pepper’s!
