Project Hope Florida will hold its 3rd annual “Drive for Hope” Golf Classic on April 28 at Blackwater Golf Club in Crestview, with proceeds supporting the organization’s addiction recovery programs.
The 18-hole tournament begins at 11 a.m., offering participants lunch, dinner, raffles, giveaways and prizes for top teams, according to organization officials.
- “This tournament provides a chance to support a great cause while enjoying a day on the course,” said a Project Hope representative.
Project Hope Florida operates a residential recovery center at 3690 US 90-E in Crestview, providing a 12-15 month substance abuse program for men struggling with addiction.
The Christ-centered program focuses on helping participants establish “a personal relationship with Jesus,” which the organization describes as “the key to true freedom and not just temporary sobriety.”
- The organization first opened in Okaloosa County in June 2016 on Hollywood Boulevard in Fort Walton Beach before relocating to Crestview in November 2020. The original facility saw more than 30 graduations and hosted regular spiritual events, including weekly chapel services.
Project Hope’s stated mission is to “carry a message of hope and transformation to men with life-controlling problems” through a free, year-long residential discipleship process. Their programs aim to help participants become “mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive.”
- The organization recently launched Saving Grace, a program specifically designed for women in need of assistance.
In addition to its Crestview location, Project Hope maintains facilities in Houston, Texas, and Russellville, Arkansas.
