The Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation will host its annual Red Shoe Party on Jan. 24 at Old Florida Fish House in Seagrove Beach to support foster children in Okaloosa and Walton counties.

  • The signature cocktail event, scheduled from 6-9 p.m., draws inspiration from Dorothy’s ruby slippers in “The Wizard of Oz” and centers on the theme “there’s truly no place like home” — a message that carries particular weight for foster children navigating uncertainty in the child welfare system.

Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased here. Early reservations are encouraged due to limited availability.

Virginia Davis, president of the Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation, said the event creates an opportunity for the community to rally around vulnerable children.

“For the children we serve, stability and belonging are not guaranteed, and that’s why this event matters so deeply,” Davis said. “The Red Shoe Party allows our community to come together and wrap these children in support, hope, and compassion. Every ticket, every sponsorship, every moment shared helps us remind them that they are not alone, and that a safe and loving home is something every child deserves.”

  • Guests are invited to wear cocktail attire with red accents, from shoes to accessories. The event will feature a Red Shoe Contest with categories to Sportiest, Most Glamorous and Most Creative footwear, though red shoes are not required to attend.

The evening will include entertainment from DJ V-Train, hors d’oeuvres, chef-curated entrée stations, desserts, themed signature cocktails and a silent auction. Attendees will also hear stories highlighting how community support changes lives for children in foster care.

All proceeds directly support the foundation’s mission to advocate for the best interests of abused, abandoned and neglected children within the court system by providing resources, educational support and life-enriching experiences.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals seeking to make an impact. Packages include recognition and engagement before, during and after the event. For sponsorship information, contact Davis at president@nwfgal.org

  • The Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation serves Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Working with trained volunteers, child welfare professionals and the judicial system, the foundation provides support and resources to ensure these children have a voice in court and access to necessary care.
