State Rep. Patt Maney will continue representing District 4 in the Florida House after winning re-election Tuesday with 67,643 votes, or 73.50% of ballots cast, over challenger Samuel Chang’s 24,383 votes.

  • “Thank you, Okaloosa County, for electing me to represent you another two years in our Florida House! Onward and upward!” Maney said following the election results.

In his first term, Maney successfully championed major legislation including the 2024 rewrites of both the Baker Act and Marchman Act, marking the first significant updates to these mental health and substance abuse laws in 50 and 30 years respectively.

  • He also secured passage of the Purple Star School Law to distinguish military-friendly schools and initiatives to reduce barriers for qualified childcare workers.

Looking ahead, Maney pledged to continue focusing on conservative priorities including protecting Second Amendment rights, supporting military and veteran families, improving infrastructure, and enhancing K-12 and postsecondary education to strengthen economic growth.

His track record of securing state funding for local projects has benefited environmental protection, infrastructure improvements, and education initiatives. At Northwest Florida State College alone, Maney helped secure more than $40 million in state appropriations, including $11 million for nursing education and $16.5 million for first responder training.

The victory comes two weeks after Maney received the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, Boy Scouts of America’s highest recognition, honoring his lifetime of public service that includes nearly 29 years as an Okaloosa County judge and service as an Army brigadier general.

  • During his judicial tenure, he established Florida’s first Veterans Treatment Court, which became the model for the T. Patt Maney Veterans Treatment Intervention Act.

Maney pledged to continue delivering excellent constituent services to help Okaloosa County residents navigate state resources while championing legislation that protects families, supports veterans, and promotes economic growth.
