Later this month, the Florida Department of Transportation will begin a $6.7 million construction project to mill and resurface a five-mile segment of S.R. 85 from north of Commerce Drive to Bill Lundy Road (County Road 85A) in Okaloosa County.

The project also includes:

  • Sidewalk improvements.
  • Signalization upgrades.
  • Drainage enhancements including new curb and gutter.

Lane closures and traffic impacts will not be permitted during peak traffic hours, holidays or special events at Crestview High School, according to FDOT. Pedestrians may be temporarily detoured while sidewalk and crosswalk improvements are performed.

The project is estimated for completion in late 2023.
