Superintendent Marcus Chambers will continue to lead the Okaloosa County School District after running unopposed in the upcoming election.
- The candidate qualifying period ended at noon on Friday, June 14, 2024, confirming Chambers as the superintendent for another four-year term.
In a social media post, Chambers expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the district, stating, “I am so incredibly grateful and humbled to continue to serve our students, teachers, staff, administrators and the entire community of Okaloosa.”
Chambers, who grew up in Okaloosa Schools, began his career as a substitute teacher before becoming a teacher and coach. He later served as a principal at various levels before assuming the role of superintendent.
- “I love our school district,” Chambers said in his post. “I am so grateful for our outstanding teachers, staff, principals, and district administrators who give their all each day for our students. They are amongst the hardest working folks I know.”
Chambers acknowledged the support he has received from the community and the school district, saying, “I’m so thankful for all that have supported me and our school district. I always say, we are not a perfect school district, but we strive to do what is right and do our best.”
As he prepares to lead the district for another term, Chambers expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to continue serving as the superintendent of Okaloosa County Schools.
“I am so grateful to be your Superintendent!!” he wrote.

Marcus is cut from some good fabric, God, his family, community and the belief in our children’s best interest at heart. He aims to see them thriving, not just getting by. Stay true to your calling Marcus, God is not through with you yet.
