Two Fort Walton Beach Police Officers involved in shooting

Today, April 2, 2020, at approximately 4:55 a.m., two Fort Walton Beach police officers were involved in a shooting near the corner of Robinwood Dr. SW and Hollywood Dr. NW as they attempted to serve a felony fugitive warrant from the Tallahassee Police Department for child molestation and failing to register as a sex offender.

The suspect was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for medical treatment.

Per standard protocol, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating the incident. All inquiries should be made to FDLE regarding the investigation.

There were no reports of officer injuries.
