UPDATE: Attempted Kidnapping in Fort Walton Beach

On July 17, 2019, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the suspect vehicle involved in the July 15 attempted kidnapping near Ferry Park was located in Fort Walton Beach.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office stopped the vehicle near Eglin Parkway and Hollywood Boulevard where Fort Walton Beach police officers confirmed the vehicle matched the description. The two passengers of the van also fit the description of the two suspects from the attempted kidnapping. The passengers were identified, questioned and released pending further investigation. Identities will not be released at this time.

The case is active and under investigation. Additional updates will be provided as they become available. Any individuals with information regarding this incident are still asked to contact Detective Thomas Zbikowski at 850-833-9546 or call 911 for an emergency.
