A large commercial structure fire broke out at Tailfins Waterfront Grill, located at 172 Harbor Boulevard in Destin, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, around 11 a.m.

  • The Destin Fire Control District upgraded the incident to a 2nd alarm fire at approximately 11:15 a.m., urging residents and visitors to avoid the area while firefighters work to control the blaze.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office reported that the eastbound lanes of Harbor Boulevard (Hwy 98) in front of Tailfins are closed due to the ongoing fire. Authorities have not reported any injuries at this time.

As of the latest update, crews are still working to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire has not been determined, and no further details have been released regarding the extent of the damage to the restaurant or surrounding structures.

The Destin Fire Control District and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office continue to monitor the situation closely. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
