The Walton County Tourism Department has announced the launch of Keep Walton County Beautiful (KWCB), a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, aimed at preserving the county’s natural environment.

“Joining forces with Keep America Beautiful is a landmark moment,” said Matt Algarin, Director of the Walton County Tourism Department. “Walton County is a special place. Through Keep Walton County Beautiful, locals and visitors will help protect our natural resources so everyone can enjoy them for generations to come.”

KWCB will partner with individuals and businesses on various beautification and protection efforts, including tree planting, enhancement of green spaces, beach and roadway cleanups, litter prevention campaigns, and providing resources for green businesses.

  • In addition to resources for locals, KWCB will also spearhead educational campaigns targeting visitors, encouraging them to act as good environmental stewards and participate in clean-up and beautification events.

Ashlyn Temples, marketing specialist for the Walton County Tourism Department, will lead the KWCB initiative. Those interested in learning more and getting involved can visit keepwaltoncountybeautiful.org.

  1. What kind of nonsense is this? Bfo’s have privatized the beaches along 30A throwing locals and tourists off of “their” sacred sand. Why should we assist these greedy elitists in any way??? This is a slap in the face! Let them take care of “their” sacred sand themselves, seaweed, dead sea life, trash, hurricane damage, etc. Those beaches have been enjoyed by tourists and locals alike for generations now, thanks to HR 631, corrupt BCC’s and the greedy bfo’s tourists as well as locals are no longer welcome on the beaches. You have tremendous nerve asking for taxpayer and tourist time, energy and money for the purpose of taking care of beaches that were stolen from us to benefit the 300 greedy bfo’s to the detriment of thousands. Pardon me but Piss Off!
