When the beach day winds down and you’re ready for something sweet, Destin–Fort Walton Beach has a variety of dessert spots that are guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth.
- Whether you’re craving homemade ice cream after dinner, a nostalgic snoball by the water, or an over-the-top cookie, these seven spots are absolutely worth the sugar rush.
Pink Coyote Dessert Co.
Pink Coyote Dessert Co. is a locally owned gem serving incredible homemade ice cream. What really sets them apart is that most of the mix-ins (like brownie chunks and cookie pieces) are made from scratch in-house. Cookie Creature and their seasonal Summer Berry Cobbler are fan favorites, but you also can’t go wrong with their creamy vanilla or classic chocolate.
The Destin shop is located right on the water, sharing a spot with Dewey’s Snoballs and next to Dewey Destin’s Seafood Restaurant. Overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay and Crab Island, it offers some of the best sunset views in town. For the perfect evening, enjoy dinner at Dewey Destin’s, then walk over for ice cream while the sun sets.
Their Fort Walton Beach location has a totally different vibe, with a larger space, indoor and outdoor seating, and more of a cozy coffee shop feel rather than a quick post-beach stop. They serve their ice cream in scoops, homemade waffle cones, sundaes, floats, and even flights if you can’t choose just one flavor. You can also order an Avalanche (their thickly blended ice cream packed with mix-ins). Don’t skip the pastry case! Everything from cookies to brownies and other baked goods are made from scratch in small batches.
Dewey’s Snoballs
For a true Gulf Coast classic, you have to try a snoball from Dewey’s Snoballs. Not to be confused with a typical snow cone, this New Orleans-style treat is made from ice that is finely shaved and fluffy like fresh snow, not crunchy or granular. Instead of the syrup sinking to the bottom, the ice absorbs it, so every bite tastes just as sweet as the first.
They make all of their syrups in-house using 100% Louisiana cane sugar, and there are more than 30 flavors to choose from. You can keep it simple or go all out with toppings like cream or marshmallow, and even have it stuffed with cheesecake or ice cream. One of the most popular combinations is the Scarlett O’Hara, made with red velvet and wedding cake syrups, stuffed with cheesecake and topped with cream.
- Snoballs are seasonal (typically March through October), which makes them feel even more special. It’s one of those simple, nostalgic treats that just tastes like summer.
Frozen Bloom Creamery

Recently opened in Destin, Frozen Bloom Creamery is one of the prettiest dessert spots around. The European-inspired cafe features, white marble, pink chairs, lots of natural light, and a photo-op wall featuring a pink bench, flowers, and cute “Happiness Blooms Here” sign. The atmosphere is as Instagram-worthy as the treats!
On the menu, you’ll find gelato, sorbet, homemade ice cream, coffee, pastries, floats, bubble waffles, and more. Enjoy classic and unique flavors such as Brownie Caramel Bliss, Fig Mascarpone, and Blueberry Cheesecake Swirl, just to name a few. For the ultimate dessert, order the Cookie Dough Bubble Waffle (it has cookie dough chunks baked right into the waffle) and top it with cookie dough ice cream and chocolate sauce.
- And if you need a little pick-me-up, give their affogato a try. It’s a simple but perfect combination of espresso poured over vanilla ice cream.
THICK Cookie Co.

If you haven’t heard about THICK Cookie Co. yet, prepare to be obsessed. This bright, welcoming shop in Downtown Fort Walton Beach specializes in jumbo gourmet cookies, with flavors rotating each month.
You’ll always find a mix of 7 oz. and 4 oz. cookies on their in-store menu. Past flavors have included Dubai Chocolate, Loaded Snickerdoodle, King Cake, and other creative spins. They also scoop ice cream if you want to level up to a cookie sundae. Fair warning: they sell out daily, so go earlier rather than later!

Sugar & Co.

Whether you’ve seen their food truck around town or visited their new bakery in Fort Walton Beach, Sugar & Co. is all about fun, over-the-top desserts with pink, playful vibes.
They serve everything from decadent cakes and cookies to banana pudding, brownies, and of course, ice cream! Their signature “Slayers” are layered scoops of ice cream stacked with sauces and toppings, and they come in a variety of combinations. You’ll also find milkshakes, sundaes, banana splits, floats, and even ice cream nachos.
- It’s one of those spots that feels joyful the moment you walk in, and there’s something on the menu for everyone. Don’t leave without snapping a photo in front of their “Give Me Some Sugar” mural!
Lady Ray’s Culinary Delights
Lady Ray’s is a hidden gem in Destin. This cozy spot feels like a local boutique bakery meets café, where you can enjoy freshly baked cookies, brownies, croissants, and other treats alongside coffee or specialty drinks. They also create custom cakes and creative sweets that are perfect if you’re celebrating something special during your trip.
Whether you’re craving an indulgent cinnamon roll croissant with your morning latte or want to grab a beautifully made dessert to take home, Lady Ray’s adds an artisanal touch to the local dessert scene.
The Donut Hole
While most people think of The Donut Hole as a classic breakfast stop, it’s also one of the best places in town for old-school desserts. Yes, the donuts are iconic, but the real hidden gem is their bakery case.
Walk in and you’ll immediately see rows of cakes and pies that feel straight out of a traditional family bakery. Their key lime pie is especially popular, and they usually have a wide selection of layer cakes, cheesecakes, cream pies, and seasonal specialties. It’s the kind of place where you can grab dessert to-go after dinner or pick up a whole cake for a special occasion.
Whether you’re planning a dessert crawl or just need a sweet ending to a beach day, these spots always deliver. From waterfront ice cream with sunset views to nostalgic snoballs and massive warm cookies, Destin–Fort Walton Beach knows how to do dessert right.
