City of Fort Walton Beach Police Chief

The City of Fort Walton Beach has selected Robert Bage as its new Chief of Police. Bage, one of more than 60 candidates to apply for the job, will officially begin his new role in the community on March 11, 2019.

Bage comes to Fort Walton Beach from the North Miami Police Department where he spent the last 20 years, most recently as Assistant Chief.

“I am looking forward to leading the Fort Walton Beach Police Department and being a productive member of the community. The people of the Fort Walton Beach community and the city staff are what motivated me to join this organization. Two of my top priorities are to increase community engagement and improve the quality of life for everyone in Fort Walton Beach.”

City officials spent the last five months reviewing resumes and assessments, conducting phone and Skype interviews, in person interviews, hosting a community meet and greet, and visiting the departments and cities of three finalists for the job.
