A bakery that has drawn devoted fans to downtown DeFuniak Springs for nearly seven years is now welcoming guests along the Emerald Coast.

  • Perla Baking Co. has officially opened its second location at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin, marking the artisan bakery’s first expansion beyond its original home on historic Main Street in DeFuniak Springs.

The new Miramar Beach location offers the same thoughtfully crafted pastries, fresh-baked breads, and breakfast items that earned the bakery its following since opening in 2019 — along with exclusive new menu items created specifically for Grand Boulevard guests. Daily specials, seasonal drinks, and an expanded matcha menu round out the offerings.

“Every tenant we welcome to Grand Boulevard adds something meaningful to the experience we’re building here,” said Jenny Taylor, general manager of Grand Boulevard. “Perla Baking Co. brings the kind of craft and warmth that our guests recognize and appreciate. We’re proud to be home to their second location.”

The original DeFuniak Springs location, situated near Lake DeFuniak and the city’s thriving arts community, has served as a gathering place for residents and visitors alike. The expansion to Miramar Beach aims to bring that same neighborhood-bakery warmth to one of Northwest Florida’s busiest retail and dining destinations.

More openings ahead at Grand Boulevard

Perla Baking Co.’s arrival comes as Grand Boulevard continues expanding its lineup of shops and restaurants.

  • Warby Parker, the eyewear retailer known for its direct-to-consumer model and in-house eye exams, is scheduled to open in April 2026. The Miramar Beach location will bring the brand’s signature approach to glasses and eye care to the Emerald Coast market.

Further ahead, Shade’s Bar & Grill is slated to open in late 2026, adding another dining option to the Boulevard’s collection of restaurants.

Grand Boulevard will announce additional details on both openings as their launch dates approach.
