The State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause of the fire, which was determined to be accidental in nature.

  • “This could have been much worse if not for the quick response of our crews and the person who made the call,” said Fire Chief Austin Pugh. “We train for moments like this, and our team executed exactly as they should.”

Walton County Fire Rescue cleared the scene at 8:14 a.m.

Grady Brown Park is located on the north side of the bay at the Clyde B. Wells Bridge on US Highway 331 at 20940 US Highway 331 South, Freeport.
