Residents near Eglin Air Force Base may hear detonation sounds Monday as explosive specialists conduct a planned munitions disposal operation.

  • The 96th Civil Engineer Squadron’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight will carry out the routine disposal on Range C-62 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Nov. 18.

The operation could produce noise noticeable to residents in Mossy Head and the north side of Niceville areas.

Military officials said the EOD flight conducts these disposals on the Eglin reservation as a safety measure.
