HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital has named Dr. Evgenia Genova Slavcheva as its new Chief Medical Officer, the hospital announced Sept. 30.
- Slavcheva is a board-certified internal medicine and pediatrics physician executive with more than 25 years of clinical and leadership experience. According to the hospital, she has a strong track record of advancing quality, patient safety, physician engagement and operational excellence.
“Dr. Slavcheva is an accomplished physician leader whose experience and collaborative approach will be a tremendous asset to our hospital and medical staff,” said KC Donahey, Chief Executive Officer of HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital.
Donahey said Slavcheva’s commitment to clinical excellence and to building strong partnerships with physicians aligns closely with the hospital’s mission to provide exceptional care to the communities it serves.
“We are excited to welcome her to our leadership team,” Donahey said.

Before joining St. David’s HealthCare, Slavcheva served as Facility Medical Director for Hospital Medicine with TeamHealth. There, she built a high-performing hospital medicine team and achieved strong results in length of stay, infection prevention and patient experience. She was recognized as Best Facility Medical Director at the TeamHealth National Conference for her leadership and operational impact.
