Fort Walton Beach radio stations will return to Uptown Station next week for the 15th annual Bikes or Bust donation drive benefiting Emerald Coast Toys for Tots.

  • The event, organized by JVC Broadcasting, runs from 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, through noon Sunday, Dec. 7, at Uptown Station, located at 99 Eglin Parkway NE in Fort Walton Beach. Highway 98 Country morning show host Bo Reynolds will kick off the event by climbing onto the scissor-lift Thursday morning.

During the 98-hour drive, DJs from Highway 98 Country and its sister stations will take turns living on a 30-foot-tall scissor-lift above the shopping center, with only a tent and sleeping bag to protect them from the elements.

The stations will collect new bikes, helmets, toys and monetary donations to help children in need along the Emerald Coast.

  • Local volunteers and representatives from JVC Broadcasting’s Fort Walton Beach and Panama City Beach markets will be on site collecting donations and assembling bikes throughout the event.

The drive will be supported by Highway 98 Country-WHWY, 102.1 The Wave-WWAV, The Bone 92.1-WBON, The Bone 97.7-WYYX and Florida Man Radio 103.1-WZLB.
