Crestview’s new Walmart Neighborhood Market will celebrate its grand opening Wednesday, Sept. 30, with a free, daylong community event at the store at 1150 Industrial Drive.
- The event runs from 8:25 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public. The schedule includes a morning ribbon cutting, cooking demonstrations, celebrity meet-and-greets and an evening concert.
The day kicks off at 8:25 a.m. with the Crestview High School junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders and the CHS brass section. Saxophonist Mike Phillips will perform during the ribbon cutting at 8:30 a.m.
Chef Lillian Logan will lead a breakfast demonstration called “Make the Morning” at 9:30 a.m.
At 2 p.m., Crestview-raised Olympic speed skater Mia Manganello will hold a meet-and-greet. Manganello helped Team USA win bronze in the women’s team pursuit at the 2018 PyeongChang Games and earned a second bronze in the women’s mass start at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games. Okaloosa County declared May 9 “Mia Manganello Day” earlier this year, and Crestview named her a grand marshal of its America 250 Grand Parade. The afternoon continues with a cooking demonstration called “Make Your Day” with Chef Tim Crehan at 3 p.m., followed by a live cooking show and meet-and-greet with Chef James Briscione at 3:45 p.m. WWE’s The Bella Twins will meet fans at 4:45 p.m.
Country-pop singer-songwriter Niko Moon closes the day with a concert at 6 p.m., followed by a meet-and-greet.
Giveaways and early arrival
The first 250 people in line for the 8:30 a.m. ribbon cutting will receive a $25 gift card. Recipients must be 18 or older with a valid ID, and the offer is limited to one gift card per family on a first-come, first-served basis. Walmart associates are not eligible.
Meet-and-greet lanyards will go to the first 200 shoppers in line who have a same-day receipt from the Industrial Drive store. Photo opportunities are first come, first served, availability is limited and meet-and-greets may end early because of capacity, according to the event listing.
Free samples and giveaways will be offered throughout the day while supplies last.
