Niceville Police Officer arrested for alleged misuse of law enforcement databases

A Niceville Police Department officer faces charges after an internal audit allegedly revealed unauthorized searches of personal information.

Officer Coty Hall was arrested Friday and charged with violating Florida State Statute 815.06 (2) (A), which pertains to offenses against users of computers, computer systems, computer networks and electronic devices.

An internal audit conducted between January 2025 and October 2025 allegedly identified numerous unauthorized personal information inquiries Hall made through various law enforcement databases.

  • The information from these inquiries allegedly was used to harass a fellow law enforcement officer and their spouse.

The department said it remains committed to accountability and transparency. The investigation remains ongoing, and any additional charges will be determined upon its completion, according to the PD.
