Young artists across Okaloosa County are invited to showcase their creativity in the 17th annual Okaloosa County School Poster Contest, with entries accepted through May 2.
- The Okaloosa Arts Alliance is calling on students in kindergarten through 12th grade to submit original artwork exploring this year’s theme: “What Does Art Mean to You?” The prompt asks students to consider how creativity shapes their daily lives and translate that reflection into a visual piece.
The contest welcomes both first-time participants and experienced student artists. Entries may be submitted through schools or by individual students.
Drop-off locations include the Grow Your Gift Conservatory of Music at 105B Lewis St., open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the Okaloosa Arts Alliance office at 100 Beal Parkway SW, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mailed entries are also accepted.
Winners will be announced at a free community reception on Sunday, May 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the conservatory, featuring student artwork, live music, an instrument “petting zoo” and refreshments.
