Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections Paul Lux is warning voters about potentially fraudulent messages asking them to click a link to verify their voter status.

Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections Paul Lux is warning voters about potentially fraudulent messages that instruct them to click a link to verify their voter status.

Lux’s office issued the warning in a news release Friday, Oct. 16, saying voters have been receiving the communications.

According to the release, the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections office does not send text messages to voters.

Voters who want to check their voter status are urged to confirm their voter record by using the Check Voter Status button on the Supervisor of Elections website, VoteOkaloosa.gov, or by calling one of the Supervisor of Elections offices.
