Due to expected icy road conditions, Okaloosa County Schools will be closed for Tuesday, February 16th. Okaloosa Superintendent of Schools Marcus Chambers confirmed on Monday afternoon.

Schools are expected to reopen as normal on Wednesday, according to the district.

The Okaloosa County School District adds that all extra-curricular events scheduled for after school on Tuesday are still able to happen at this time. Additionally, my School Online students can work in their virtual courses if they wish to. However, teacher-led activities will not occur on Tuesday.

This comes after a thunderstorm and as temperatures are expected to drop overnight to below freezing levels, which has the potential to impact school district transportation if water remains on the roads.
