Science meets spirits at Emerald Coast Science Center fundraiser Feb. 28 in Fort Walton Beach

The Emerald Coast Science Center blends cocktails with chemistry for an adults-only evening of education and entertainment.

Adults looking to explore the science behind their favorite drinks can raise a glass to education at My Chemical Cocktail, a 21-and-older fundraiser returning to the Emerald Coast Science Center on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 6 to 9 p.m.

  • The event combines creative mixology with hands-on science demonstrations as attendees sample cocktail creations from local bars and restaurants while learning about the chemistry behind alcohol, flavor and presentation.

Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy demonstrations and vote for their favorite cocktails in categories including Best Presentation and Most Scientific.

Tickets are tiered at $60 for early bird, $70 the week of the event and $75 day-of. Each ticket includes admission, light refreshments and access to cocktail stations.

Tickets for the event are available here.

“My Chemical Cocktail is a fun and unexpected way for adults to rediscover how engaging science can be. Science isn’t just for kids, it’s for everyone,” said Kate Fox, development coordinator at the Emerald Coast Science Center. “Guests get to sip, socialize, and explore science in a whole new way, all while supporting our mission to bring engaging, hands-on STEAM opportunities to our community.”

Bars or restaurants interested in competing can contact Eileen Cook, social media coordinator, at eileen@ecscience.org

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Science Center to further its mission to inspire a scientifically engaged community through STEAM education and public outreach.

The Emerald Coast Science Center is located at 31 Memorial Parkway SW in Fort Walton Beach.
