Like so many people in Fort Walton Beach, I pass the flagpole at Uptown Station every single day. Sometimes multiple times a day. I knew that it was the tallest flagpole along the Emerald Coast, and vaguely remember hearing that it is the tallest flagpole in Florida.

So that led me on a hunt to dig up as many facts about Uptown Station’s gigantic flag that I could find. And just in time for the 4th of July!

Special thanks to Jay Odom and Crystal Beach Development for taking the time to answer all of my questions and to provide further insight into the project.
