The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island will host its 10th annual Pelican Plunge on Wednesday, Jan. 1, inviting the community to kick off the new year with a splash into the Gulf for a charitable cause.

The fundraising event, presented by The Boardwalk and The Emerald Coast Foundation, runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Participants can choose their own style of entry into the Gulf waters — whether they dip, dive, flop, or leap.

  • The event benefits local children, with 100% of proceeds supporting the children’s programs of The Emerald Coast Foundation.

Participants will be “freezin’ for a reason” on New Year’s Day, with all proceeds directly supporting the children of The Emerald Coast Foundation.

The 10th anniversary of the Pelican Plunge continues a decade-long tradition that has become a popular New Year’s Day celebration on Okaloosa Island, combining community spirit with support for local children’s initiatives.

Registration and additional details are available here.

The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island is located at 1450 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Fort Walton Beach.
