The Island Resort & Convention Center on Okaloosa Island has closed to the public, effective immediately, following Hurricane Isaias, and is expected to remain closed until late November while the property undergoes renovation and construction work.
- The resort announced the temporary closure in a message addressed to its “Island Family.”
“Over the next few weeks, our property will undergo necessary renovation and construction work as we focus on repairs and improvements to prepare for our return,” The Island Resort & Convention Center Team said in the statement.
All upcoming events at the resort, including Boo on the Beach, are canceled. Room reservations scheduled during the closure will need to be canceled or rescheduled, according to the resort.
Guests with questions about a specific reservation or who need assistance are asked to contact the resort’s Front Desk or Reservations team.
The resort team described the closure as a hard call for the property.
“This was an incredibly difficult decision, and we are truly heartbroken that we cannot welcome our guests and community during this time,” the statement said. “We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause.”
The resort said it will continue to share updates as work progresses and will notify the public if the anticipated reopening date changes.
