Trinity United Methodist Church paid off $906 in outstanding student lunch debt at Shalimar Elementary School as part of its 65th anniversary celebration.

  • The church declared a Jubilee year to mark the milestone, focusing on reflection, gratitude and community giving.

The October collection surpassed the initial goal, generating enough funds to cover Shalimar Elementary’s lunch debt and provide more than $400 toward reducing lunch debt at Pryor Middle School. The contributions also helped clear outstanding tuition balances for Trinity Preschool families.

“We are so grateful for Trinity United Methodist Church’s generosity and support of our students and families,” said Amy Klugh, principal of Shalimar Elementary School. “Acts of kindness like this truly make a difference and remind our students that their community cares about them.”

Superintendent Marcus Chambers praised the church’s ongoing support of local schools.

“Trinity United Methodist Church has a long history of giving back to Okaloosa schools, and this is another wonderful example of how our community rallies around students,” Chambers said. “We are incredibly thankful for their partnership and continued commitment to supporting education.”
