The Air Force Medical Examiner has identified the person found in a burned car on Sept. 23 at Range Road 234 and Lewis Turner Boulevard as Senior Airman Tamera Moniq Bolden-Cleckley, 26, of Boerne, Texas, according to a news release issued Saturday by the Air Force.
- Bolden-Cleckley entered the Air Force in 2021 and was assigned to the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron as a diagnostic imaging specialist, or radiology technician, according to the release.
“Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley was a valued member of the 96 Test Wing team, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow Airmen during this difficult time,” said 96th Test Wing Commander Col. Chris Keithley. “We remain committed to supporting those affected by this loss and encourage anyone who needs assistance to reach out to any of our helping agencies.”
An Eglin Air Force Base employee found the car on the morning of Sept. 23 and notified law enforcement, according to the release. Patrols from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the 96th Security Forces Squadron responded, and the scene was immediately turned over to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
The intersection of Range Road 234 and Lewis Turner Boulevard is not on Eglin’s main base, according to the Air Force. It is part of the Eglin Test and Training Range Complex, which is Department of the Air Force federal property.
Col. Daniel Micsunescu, commander of the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron, also offered condolences.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the loss of Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley, one of our teammates. During this incredibly difficult time, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Tamera’s family, friends, and all those who knew and cared for her,” Micsunescu said.
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is still investigating, and no further information will be released at this time, according to the Air Force.
