All city operated parks in Destin and Fort Walton Beach are closed until further notice

Trees are down, playground equipment is damaged and debris is scattered.

All city parks in Destin and Fort Walton Beach are currently closed while city crews assess damage and begin cleanup.

“This will take some time as documentation must be made for insurance claims,” said the City of Fort Walton Beach. “Some parks have more damage than others, especially waterfront parks and amenities.”

Trees are down, playground equipment is damaged and debris is scattered.

For the City of Destin, this includes:

  • All beach side parks as well as access ways and trails
  • All inland parks
  • Joes Bayou Boat Launch
  • All water side parks
