The Cox Store in Crestview will host a free electronics recycling event Friday from 8 a.m. to noon, giving Okaloosa and Walton County residents an opportunity to dispose of small electronic items responsibly.

The event will take place at the Cox store located at 1312 N. Ferdon Boulevard. Residents can drop off batteries, cell phones, connector cables, power cords and other small electronics during the four-hour window.

  • Large items such as televisions will not be accepted at the event, according to the company.

Cox described the initiative as part of its commitment to sustainability and community engagement. The telecommunications company said the program aims to keep harmful materials out of landfills while providing residents with a responsible way to dispose of old technology.

The recycling event offers residents a convenient location to drop off electronic waste that might otherwise end up in household garbage.
