Human remains were discovered Friday in an area near Stillwell Boulevard in Crestview, prompting a death investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene after receiving a report from individuals who located the remains, according to a Friday post from the sheriff’s office.

The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information was available at the time of the announcement.
